I offer alternatives to face to face counselling of online or telephone counselling. Here is some information about the options for you.
I am trained in online and telephone counselling. I am able to offer you the flexibility to choose the technology you feel is best suited for you.
All of the different ways I can work with you. Will always be held in a confidential safe space for you to be able to talk and express yourself, within your therapeutic hour of 50 minutes.
Online and Telephone
Online counselling and telephone counselling both can be done within the safety of your safe place. Therapy can be at a time, place and pace that suits you. Through working online or telephone, you have the option of having a counsellor who is out of your area.
Telephone and online counselling can help with many of the same issues as face to face counselling. It’s not suitable for everyone. I am flexible and open minded in where and how we work. It is important that you feel safe and comfortable to explore what is going on for you.
Safe Space
I recommend you to use a private, safe and quiet space in which to carry out your online or telephone counselling. This helps you to feel safer for you to explore any difficult issues. I work from a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space. To be able to create a safe space for you to be able to talk and to express yourself. I am the only person who will be able to hear you.
Online Counselling
Online counselling can help for us to be able to see each other from where you want to work from. This can be from the comfort of your home or from your workspace. The online counselling is through secure and encrypted web platforms, working from computer, tablet or phone.
How does it work?
To work online, we’ll agree to meet via an end-to-end encrypted video conferencing application, usually Zoom. I will email you invitations to our scheduled meetings. An end-to-end encrypted online platform enables the highest possible security and confidentiality for our sessions.
Through online counselling I am able to share and show information. Including interventions through the online platform through screen sharing. We can work creatively online. You may need to bring paper and pens for your session for your side of the screen.
With working online. I encourage you to use a personal private password protected device and private e-mail address for our therapeutic exchanges. Virus and spyware is maintained on all of my devices. I ask that you carry out similar safety precautions on your own computer.
Technical issues
If there is a problem with working online, if there is an issue with internet. We can transfer to continue on the telephone.
Telephone counselling
Telephone counselling will work on the same principle. Other than we are not able see each other. Some people find it easier and more comfortable to express themselves. It can have an extra feeling of being anonymous through the telephone.
Something to consider if you would like to work on the telephone. How do you feel about not having any visual cues? With no body language or facial expressions? Non-verbal communication can be in your tone of voice or the pace of speech.
Contact me for more information, with a free telephone consultation. We can talk though, what counselling will suit you. We have the option to change from online to telephone or visa versa.
